Has anyone had it done? Apple quoting £139. Of course the screen isn't covered by warranty! Typical!

Thanks

C

eBay is your friend. I've had two mates that have done this successfully.
It does all depend on what part of the screen is buggered though. Is it just the glass? Is it the touch sensitive layer? I think the later iPhones have separate layers but the earlier models had them bonded together.

Yeah boyfriend has done his iPod too and I don't mind if he does that one himself and breaks it ;) lol. Touch bit seems to be working. Getting a price from the people who repair for Discovery soon so will use them if it comes out OK. Company discount FTW!

Can they beat the £15 it costs for the glass?

I've only ever done it with a chicken so far, but if required I wouldn't have any problems doing it with other animals at all.

I've used these guys for general phone repairs (not iPhone) and have been very pleased with them - I'd be happy sending my iPhone to them if it needed fettling.
