Yar - if she's using 10.5 then it doesn't count!

I just switched one the other way. Does that mean the balance in the universe is restored?

Unlikely, as it's still weighted too far in the "wrong" direction.

Talking of macs and pcs tried to download the new mac msn messenger today. Stupid site tried to download an exe file. Is Microsoft the only website that hasn't got software to detect what platform you're on? Poor show!

Nah, plenty of sites do that - look at your web browser ID string and try to figure out what file to download to you. Firefox web site does the same if you're trying to download an FF install. I think the iTunes install page at Apple does it too IIRC. Most of them are smart enough to have a 'if you want a different version click here' somewhere on their web site though.

I think the issue was MS didn't detect it, so a user (on a Mac) accidentally downloaded a .exe.

I mis-read this, and thought it was another Okenobi thread. "Bedded a switcher"

You'd think the site would have redirected to their Mactopia branded website here. Clearly not.

Friend at work is about to take delivery of his first Mac - a 27" iMac. He's already had the iPod, then the iPhone, then the iPad. He's also found a large carry bag so he can bring it to work when necessary.

I'll be meeting the switcher that inspired this thread when I go to Egypt in a few weeks. (8+)
