Just a word of warning

I had been running the Safari 4 beta on my iBook at work and I had some specific web testing to do, so I to uninstall it and get Safari 3 back on. The uninstall stalled and I had to kill the installer to get access to the machine back. On reboot it wouldn't load Mac OS and was stuck at the 'spinning windmill' thing.

Had to get my 10.5 disks and do a 'fresh system with copied user folders' instal, which worked surprisingly well. Until I tried to log in and it wouldn't accept my password, so I had to bot off the leopard DVD again to reset it. It was all straightforward but then I do do this for a living. Lost me about a morning's worktime.

I have a feeling the fact I'd installed 10.5.7 after the Safari 4 beta may have interfered with the deinstaller somehow but how the deinstaller managed to completely trash my system I don't know. But just a word of warning if anyone needs to do the same - have your system disks and if possible a recent backup handy...
