On some of our office computers desktop shortcuts exhibit a strange behaviour where instead of "clicking through" to the next level in file open dialogs they jump out completely to an explorer window to look at the location - making document open a complete PITA.

And our office manager doesn't feel it an issue enough to warrant calling in IT.

Any ideas how to fix it?

Sounds like the "start in" location is corrupt or wrong.

Has someone been renaming shares?

I'd forgotten I posted this and just suffered it again... yes, someone had. Fixed now. Cheers dude.
