...you write a brilliant, elegant and simple program to replace a clunky, complicated and confusing program and it does exactly the same thing only quicker and easier and then no one seems to notice or care.

I spent the entire day today replacing an urgent charging calculation (a program that is fed dates and rates and returns details of cost etc...) that was going wrong and needed repairing quickly. I managed to find several parts that were badly messed up and came up with a really nice solution to the problem. But no one cared or even looked at it.
