Hi all,

Is there a way of disabling the synch for an imap account in Mac Mail just for Deleted Items?
I know it's possible for GMail accounts, but I haven't yet found a way of forcing it not to synch on a per-folder basis.
Is there a way of doing it?
Thanks all.

If you store the deleted items locally on the machine, then yes, it's totally possible.

Sounds good.
How would I achieve that? Could you give me a couple of pointers?

Thanks,
Diz

Create a new Mailbox, select Location : On My Mac from the dropdown, then when you want to delete anything just make sure it goes in to that mailbox.

Cool thanks.
And it's to choose that deleted items as the default deleted items for a different IMAP account?
Thanks.

Select the mailbox you've just made then go to the mailbox menu and select 'trash' on the 'use this mailbox for' submenu. You'll probably also have to untick the 'store deleted items on the server' option in the mailbox behaviour pane of the account properties.
