Couple of recommendations of stuff that's just shown up on the App Store, specifically for the iPad
Thinkbook - £1.19
The best 'note taking/information organisation' app for the iPad so far. Much like OmniFocus on the mac. Great design, clever interface and dropbox synchronisation.
Planetary - Free.
This is a bit odd but brilliant. Imagine your iTunes library is the universe. Every artist is a star system in that universe. Every album by that artist is a planet orbiting within that star system. The colour of the planet is taken from the album art of that album. Every song on that album is a moon orbiting that planet. The 'moons' period of orbit is defined by the length of each song, and the planet's orbit period is defined by the total length of songs on the album. Each group of artists that start with the same letter make a constellation. Take all that, and wrap it in a gorgeous 3D touch interface and tie it to the standard iPod controls so the music keeps playing even if you quit the app. Mad, hardly efficient, but somewhat genius.
