it took about a minute to work out it was E1M6 from Doom - which goes to show:
a. I played Doom A LOT
b. I'm quite sad
c. they certainly don't make them like they used to!

It does show that games had better design back then. Far more complex maps, and better game play. Todays games rely on eye candy.

Well I did spend far too much of childhood creating levels in DoomCAD* and deconstructing the game levels was a good way to learn how to construct new ones and figure out which textures worked best*.

*so much so I sometimes toy with putting it in my CV!

If you think hard enough about the wording, I'm sure you can make it sound really impressive!

Well as it is most people screw their face up when I tell them I've been using Autocad since I was 16 - so saying I've used "cad software" since I was 14 won't make much difference!
