XP Mode under windows 7 Pro 32 bit not working

HI,
I am trying to get the xp mode/virtual pc installed on my laptop. It seems to install ok, but won't enable integration features. Integration features have been disabled


Can anyone offer suggestions on what I can do to fix this please (in laymans terms)

its windows 7 sp1 btw

Which version of Windows 7 do you have? It only works on Professional and above.

From the description of the problem I think he's got a compatible version of Windows; it's just the facility that allows the VM to access data on the rest of the machine that seems to be disabled. I did have a quick google and it may be something encryption related but I was unable to recreate the problem here; the option is on by default and none of the options related to it were grayed out.

Bizarrely it now only seems to work if I run the xp mode as administrator - even though my normal user is supposedly a local admin????

think I will park this one for now...
