Cancom are still selling LEGAL upgrades at the most affordable price I've found (£331 incl. delivery) - yes I did upgrade in the end. For the record, 4 other clients of my Mac guru friend have also done so. I also bought my iMac from Cancom and can definitely recommend...

No idea how long the cheaper prices will last tho' - presumably until the promo stock runs out?

Adobe have relented, slightly. They will, after all, offer a "special upgrade price" for CS3 and CS4 customers.

No news on prices yet, I imagine their bean counters are furiously working out how much to put up the full price to cover this "special upgrade price". Give with one hand, take with t'other.

It's a shame we're still on CS2 at work!

I’m on CS3, and I should really upgrade. Should I go to CS5.5, or wait for CS6? I suspect the CS5.5 price will be better than the CS6 upgrade price.

Sod's Law dictates that whichever one you go for will cost you the most! :D

Personally, if it were me, I'd wait for CS 6 now - otherwise you'd probably have to install CS 5.5 first in order to upgrade to CS 6 - more bloat to add to your system. I think CS 6 is due in Q1 so should be here before Easter I would think.

I'm just about to order 5.5 as an upgrade from 4, so I can get the upgrade to 6 when it comes out. I don't even use 4 and I won't be getting an intel mac until they update the mac pros, so 5.5 will likely never even be installed!

In the past if you got the previous version after the new version was announced you got a free upgrade to the new version (I got CS 2.3 with a free upgrade to CS3). Whether of not this will be the case with CS6 though

I'm still on CS3 too, there are some features I like in the current CS5 Photoshop, but as you can't upgrade a package from the suite, I'm not spending a small fortune moving to CS5, as the features in InDesign and the other apps I can take or leave.

As I also need it on a PC as well as a Mac, so it's ever more sickening, gone are the days when I'd buy PageMaker and I'd get the dual Mac/PC install discs, it's only me using it, but I need a PC and a Mac due to my varied job. I did manage to get Photoshop Elements 10 for Windows at Christmas at a bargain price of £30 from Amazon on a special offer, but the interface is so annoying, you can't see layer masks properly and you can't change the interface grey/black, not exactly ideal when you are used to Photoshop Extended. However for some quick content aware healing, it's ok saving hundreds of pounds to have the latest v of Photoshop.

I believe you can get a dual install if you buy a single user volume licence(!), which provides the Mac and Win install codes, not sure they offered this years ago when I purchased CS2 then CS3. However when I spoke to Adobe last year they didn't tell me this, just suggested I, cough, buy it twice!

Adobe also offer a crossgrade if you want to move platforms, but typical Adobe, they like to treat their customers like dirt, so you have to sign a Letter of Software Destruction to say you destroyed the old platform media - seriously, is that a joke?
