Just been in the MD's office for the past hour.
We contacted t-mobile about getting the settings sent over and they said they would do it... they didn't.
That was on Monday.
I went onto the T-Mobile website today and found out why they didn't... you can't.
The only settings you can "send to an iPhone" are the SMS settings. Everything else is done via software update.
So, I just spent the last hour updating iTunes and his iPhone on his PA's laptop. I backed it up about 17 times before doing any update

and went through the process.
Anyway, it now shows the little on/off switch in carrier settings and I have left it as Automtaic on so next time he's abroad it should work with no problems
