Can you transfer your kindle book collection to a Kindle tablet, specifically the Kindle Fire HD?

I assume it's pretty straightforward, but I'm not sure.

It should just work. That said, like the Kindle itself, the books will automatically appear in your archive and you download them as you need them.

Yes - just log into your kindle account and you're library will show up.

Thanks guys.

I'm missing my original Kindle to be honest. I like the screen on the Fire HD and the backlight has a great range of adjustment, but I'm not sold on a backlit display for reading books; and the tablet itself seems locked down too tight for my liking. Maybe it'll grow on me...

I find the backlight on the Paperwhite to be great, but I struggle to concentrate book-wise on my tablet.

Same here. I use a Kindle and that is great, but I've never gotten on with reading books on tablets, mobiles or pcs.
