Works for new mails, but what about the thousands of historical mails I have to keep?

Just copy them across to the new mailbox manually? Copy and paste folders I'd have thought...

If your remote email host supports IMAP, and Outlook does, then use that instead of POP.

I'll give it a try... Problem will be synching. A majority of the mails are on both machines, but neither is complete...

Boah, well, it was a bit of a struggle, but I've got all contacts and calendar events synched between the machines.
Ended up with a lot of duplicated contacts and most birthdays were doubled up as well. Sorted it out in the end.
