Just done a reinstall and about 15-20 updates are showing as failed in the history.

I have checked and they don't show up as successful anywhere but they are not showing in available updates either.

Is there any way I can install them?

Sometimes update fail because they are not actually required, could you give us an indication of what the updates are/were (eg. were they drivers?)

There is a way to download updates manually, but I can't for the life of me remember where to get them.

There were a couple of drivers but Vista SP1 has just appeared so I am D/Ling that now.

I don't know why they don't put that one out first though.

I'll see what happens after SP1.

I'm going through the exact same process on my new Tosh. I've spent over 9000 hours so far installing updates, many of which have failed. I then realised it had a trial version of Mcafee on it. Since I got rid of that, everything is actually moving again. I should be finished by next weekend!

Quite why a brand new PC has software that's so out of date is both bemusing and frustrating...
