Handy little iOS 7 parallax trick

The parallax trick in iOs7 is nice, but not that obvious to me. When a I found was to slightly blur an image and use that as a backdrop. Suddenly, the movement is a little more obvious and the feeling of depth is increased.

Gimmick and I turned it off to save battery life.

It might be, but will it use that much battery life? I have noticed that the wallpaper moves to give a 3D effect. Not sure it uses that much battery power.
