How do you synchronise iPhoto between 2 different Macs?

Copy the iPhoto Library file which is in ~/pictures from one Mac to the other.
I'm sure with newer versions of iPhoto there are ways to do it via iCloud, but my iPhoto file is almost 6GB and I don't take that many photos or have a particularly high-res camera.

Thanks, I've past that along. I also found an iPhoto Library Manager, which allows the synchronising of libraries http://www.fatcatsoftware.com/iplm/

There are file syncing apps so you can sync files across a network or over drop box etc.

You can, but I think Photostream only uploads and syncs the most recent photos (1000?), not necessarily the whole library.

If iPhoto is anything like Aperture, it will download the Photostream and store them in named folders. As long as iPhoto on the receiving machines is run at least once a month, you should get all the photos downloaded and stored.

Photostream images will drop off the end of the world when a limit is reached, but those stored in Aperture folders are not removed. Again - check that iPhoto does the same thing (both apps share the same library now so should offer similar functionality) You can also access your Photostream from the Finder: http://benward.me/blog/tumblr-22113784911I don't know where the shared in ages go - possibly somewhere similar. Just drag them out of that folder to somewhere else. Again - local copies won't be deleted. It's just those that are held in the Cloud that are subject to the limits.

Does it stream the RAWs?

I don’t know - probably - but as I don’t use it for anything other than what my phone automagically uploads, I can’t say. It may do, as you can move photos from your iOS device to your computer, and they display RAW files. The thing to do is try.
