I disp covered that RunKeeper gives you an XML of your route, plus timings in an XML file. So I had an idea - can I generate a movie using this data and Google Maps?
So, after a bit of mucking about in LoveCode, I've got a short movie which is a segment of a bike ride. Here's the result.
http://youtu.be/WxizVm66TIIStill needs work, but the idea is sound, and it appears to work fairly well. I need to tweak the Google map output, and check that the page has fully loaded before taking the screen shot (I thought I had this, but it seems to be a little flaky in the area).
