More of a rant than a question, but if someone does know of a solution feel free to enlighten me.
I'm in the middle of creating new Facebook cover images for my band. We have two pages - one for
the band and one for
Mr Venom himself.
Looking on the web there is plenty of advice for cover image sizes 851 x 315 (although if I do a screen grab on the Mac from Safari it's actually 313 pixels high) and showing the position of the various elements that overlap this image. However these templates all seem to be for personal pages. No-one appears to even acknowledge that "company" pages, despite using the same size cover image, have all the overlapping items in completely different places!
And then when it comes to mobile devices it's even worse! I'm only looking at iPhone (I'm guessing iOS7) and Samsung Galaxy S3 (Android 4.3) the size, position and crop of the Facebook Cover Image is different on each device and different again between the "personal" page and the "company" page. It's as though the various developers for each platform have never seen what the others are doing.
So, what I suppose my question is, has someone created a template of all the different device layouts for both personal and company pages so I can work out what parts of my image are going to visible on each, so I can actually create some cover images that will look at least half way decent for all users irrespective of what platform on which they are viewing Facebook?
