Linakz on a PPC Mac?

Hi,

Now I have a PPC mac, I think I;m going to have a go at installing a Linux distro on a spare HDD, just because I can. :)

Has anyone had any experience doing so, and is it a PiTA? I'm going to try Ubuntu I think, or maybe Slackware.

Ubuntu isn't supported on PPC chips, so you'd be on your own if you tried it. Ideally you need a distro. specifically catered for PPC chips, a list is here:

Yellowdog is still available for PPC, I've never used it but it probably has some Sony cash behind it!

Once again, they're not supported, so unless you're feeling brave I'd suggest something else until you find your feet.
