I'm trying to edit some captivates. I have recorded some video and I need to use about 10 seconds of video from a five minute capture.

Captivate doesn't seem to allow you to cut out parts of a video. If I change the stay position, it just moves the whole video on the time line (E.g. If I select 120 to 130 seconds on the time line, the project then has 2 minutes of white screen before then starting the captured video at the beginning! And then another 3 minutes of white screen until the video finishes...

The problem is, I can't record and just capture the bit I want, I am recording a live production line and need to record when an error occurs on a terminal. If I wait until a problem occurs, the problem is resolved before I can start recording...

The only way I can see to do this at the moment is to export the compete video and use a second video editor to cut it down to size and re import it.
