I have one of these, the model is HS-DSGL basically its the 250gb model, the later one with the revised fan. Anyway, first of all this thing is slow and noisy, in fact I'd go as far to say as its crap. Anyway had loads of recorded TV on it I did not want, so started to delete it. It took about 3 hours to delete it, only to move it to the 'Trashbox' which would have taken another 3 hours + to get rid of. So I looked on the Bufallo site, the enthusiast created one, non-official and they were saying format the drive its quicker. So I starts to format it, tried it twice, with no luck, through the control panel in IE.

So now I basically have a bricked Linkstation. Anyone know how to get it back to life ? It uses the linux XFS filesystem. Or can I use it for something else ? Besides a paper weight ? Wouldn't mind putting a larger drive in it also, but the process seesm to be very long winded and tricky according to the fansite.
