Question: Does it matter which one you install first? Do you need to do XP first because it's older or doesn't it make a difference?

In the past Its always been oldest first but haven't tried with Win7. I doubt if you install win7 first that it will let you install an older version.

It's always been oldest first, as others have said.

indeed.

I did a little research on this topic a short while ago, something along the lines of XP not knowing what Win7 is due to not having the boot settings, but Win7 has the settings for XP, and so can configure itself properly when it detects XP on another partition.

But IIRC if thats a problem, you can configure the boot settings with a tool like EasyBCD, and add the necessary entries anyway :) just easier if you can have Windows do it for you of course.
