Bringing back memories of the Good Old Day where the keyboard was the computer, someone has jammed a MacBook Air into an Apple Keyboard and a Magic Trackpad. http://dvice.com/archives/2010/08/brilliant-modde.php Criticism: two cables. If Apple did this, they’d find a way of delivering power down the monitor cable.

Pretty much every home computer before 1986 was housed in a keyboard.

Well, I had an Acorn Archimedes A3000 and you could say that that was housed inside a keyboard. But TBH it was more like the keyboard was attached to the case. Although... I guess they forgot about these.

I have a cupboard full of such examples...
One of my customers had a Pentium PC in a keyboard about a decade ago. I can't remember the make, but I have to admit the spec was quite poor even when it was new.
As to power being delivered via the monitor lead, the c. 1990 Olivetis did that; I think there's one in my garage. I'm sure there are other examples.

But this is easier to carry around than a ruddy great big, heavy (comparatively) screen. Mark

Are you advocating a return to the 1980s when we used to plug our computers into the TV?

My TV's got a DVI port and can do 1920*1080p @ 60Hz. Why the hell not?

But why not use a laptop in those situations?

Yes but relying on their being a screen where you go is just as risky, what if it has the wrong connections or something else. I can understand using a TV but not all TV's have the same connections. The old home computers use the standard co axial connection to get a connection with the TV.

Wasn't power delivered by the ADC connector on some older Macs before the finally decided that DVI was a far more useful solution.
