A not very well disguised attempt at figuring out suggestions for what size piePhone I should get...

Split between Android and iPhone out of curiosity. If you could give any sort of indication as to whether or not you're limited by the storage available/at capacity it would be appreciated.

I have a 32GB iPhone which is pretty much full (2GB free I think). However I do think there's a degree of 'stuff expands to fill the space available' about it. According to the usage monitor, I have 14.4GB of music and 7.7GB of video (i.e. that's most of it). Now I know for a fact I can get enough music to keep me going for a long time on a 4GB USB stick and I've watched a film or TV show on my iPhone like, twice. A lot of it is there 'just in case' and could quite easily not be there if the space wasn't available.

Tablets I think maybe are a little different, especially for video.

I have a 32 GB iPhone, a lot of apps and photos. I have 7.9 Gb free. As I use it as an adhoc video camera, I really should have bought the 64GB version, though really creatingoutt some games and keeping the too count down will free up a lot of space.

The iPad is a 64GB model, and it's barely half full however, that breathing space is very welcome at times.

Data expands to fill the vacuum.
I have a 16GB model, and there's typically 2GB free. I've got a ton of apps on it, and only 2.3GB of music on it. I tend not to use it to listen to tunes, only occasionally if I'm alone in the office.

According to my phone's system information, (and I didn't even know how much storage it had before having read this thread, because that's how little I care!) I have 11.07GB total space, of which 5.27GB is available. I also have an 8GB SD card in there, which has only got a couple of hundred megs available.

I have a 32GB iPhone 4 and I've had to uninstall apps and trim down my photo album and music library in order to fit on the phone.

Thus I have just PRE-ordered (for Heather :P ) a 64GB iPhone 5.

I've got a 16 with three free. Six of that is music I never listen to. If I shoot any video, I download it to my mac fairly swiftly.

Android, think there's 1 in the phone and 8 on a card. No idea how much is used up but it would be minimal for both; the card was just what came to hand! I really should put some music on it or something...

Edit - 1 in the phone!

I had the following:

Apple iPhone 3GS 32GB - 12GB
htc 7 Mozart 16GB (German version, UK only got 8GB) - 9GB
htc Sensation 8GB - 6GB
Samsung Galaxy SIII 16GB - 8GB,

When I first got my iPhone, I filled it up with my music collection, video and photo library. It kept breaking and I had to return it several times and restore it. I got fed up with re-syncing music and video, which I never listened to / watched, so I stopped synching them, saving me around 18GB.

I also found I used the photo library less and less over the years, so I haven't bothered re-syncing the photo library either - mainly because it is now so large, it won't fit on a 32GB iPhone and I don't want to fanny around trying to work out which photos I want to keep on the phone.

Likewise, music. I listen to maybe one song every couple of months. I spend most of my time listening to podcasts (15 - 18 hours a week) and audio books. I just don't have time to listen to music. If I did. I'd probably use Spotify these days.

Both my 3GS and my 4S are 32GB models.

I tend to download lots of games that are around 300-700MB each. There are some games thst have replay value and others that I just enjoyed. Some are quick time killers eg if you have to wait five mins or so. Around 4GB music, 4GB or so in TV shows and cartoons for my young cousins to watch. I've recently started using iPlayer and it takes around 750MB at the mo. Have 1GB free.

I play most music in my car and if it's on the iPhone, I stream via bluetooth.

I guess I could drop to 16GB but it means I'd have to delete stuff and then redownload which I'm less inclined to do for some apps that I use infrequently but still use.
