Just looking at a few websites RE old vs new MBPs.
Given that the slowest first gen Core i5 (2.4GHz) was significantly faster (in most cases) than the fastest last gen C2D (3.06GHz) I could go for any of the next models and still get a massive performance gain.
ATM I have a 2.4GHz C2D with a 15" screen (@1440 x 900).
If the new 13" versions have Core i5 then I would be tempted by one of those also.
Same resolution as my current one but I tend to use an external monitor whenever I'm at home.

I've been waiting for a decent processor in the 13" for ages. I've had no reason to upgrade my 13" macbook when the only gain's I'd have gotten would be a 300MHz speed boost & a silver case.
The 15" was the only choice for a proper upgrade but I liked the 13"'s size and battery life (not to mention not being almost £1700)

That is VERY nice indeed!
I was expecting an i3 in the 13".
Bit disappointed at the resolution though. "Only" 1280x800.

Ignore me, this would be stupid.
TBH I don't need 500GB anyway (until the warranty runs out anyway).
And I'm long overdue a spring clean.

That would be cool. Will have to see Oh, I realised also that the i5 in the current MBPs is hyperthreaded but not dual core. i.e. 1 physical 2 virtual cores. The i5 in these new ones "is" a "Core i5 Dual Core" and also has hyperthreading. i.e. 2 physical 4 virtual cores. This is a HELL of an upgrade from the current range.

The i5 in the current model is dual core but not hyperthreaded. Intel don't make single core cpu's anymore

Another rumour (although this one is a bit further off). http://www.macrumors.com/2011/02/23/ano ... p-in-2012/Redesign of the entire MBP range coming next year. I'm going to hold off and wait for this I think.

Apple store "Will be back soon".
Looks like the new MBPs are going up.
Will be interesting to see the price points? I'm willing to put money on the fact that they don't change model for model.
