I have been working all morning with a can of solvent and have improved the area that had sticky tape all over it.
I would be happy to post a larger scan of the photograph. What size would be best?
The photo is the CK's aunt who recently died. She was notoriously camera shy so the family don't really have any photos of her to remember her by. This was found down the back of a wardrobe. Obviously taken in her youth.

If you can, I'd scan it at around 300dpi. Higher the better, really.

When I work on restoring photos I prefer to scan at as high a resolution as I can get (300dpi minimum really) and actually enlarge by at least 400% as you scan it.

I have made the scan but Photobucket does scales it back down. I will have to find some other way to host it. It is about 4Mp any suggestions? Also I now have to go to work. I will catch up with you later. CC

Hmm, Flikr seems to downsize the image too.
I am at a loss as to how to host this.

E-mail it to me ( WebmasterSFG [ at ] gmail [ dot ] com ) and I'll put it on my Flickr. It'll resize it if you don't have a pro account, I believe.

Thanks Mark. I have opened a Dropbox account. This seems to have done the trick.

Cool. I've downloaded it and I'll have a play. I hope there's no deadline, because it'll be fitted around other stuff.

I only think it’s polite to ask a lady’s name before touching her up.... Who is she?

Actually, a 'shoping competition might be a lot of fun. The winner gets to post a photo, and the most interesting or remarkable shoop wins. We could make it a sticky CC - you appear to have done a good job on the physical restoration. Her nose looks a lot better already. Out of interest, why did you post this in the Mac section? Is that out of habit from the other place?

I guess it is. I would really like a board just for Mac chat rather like the old MU board. I don't actually like the Hardware/Software division that we have now. For me Mac Chat and Mac Help would be more to my taste. It also shows some prejudice I guess. I don't tend to see PC users as being graphics savvy. Every graphic professional I know uses a Mac. If it were a question on gaming or overclocking I would tend to ask PC users first. CC
