In a nice piece of synchronicity (or maybe not), I got my subscription issue of MacFormat and it's got a copy of RapidWeaver 4 on the DVD. To be honest, there's little in RapidWeaver 5 that makes it worth the upgrade price so I'd suggest picking it up if you're looking for an alternative to iWeb.

The Profs sig quoting Charlie Brooker rings true for Macs more and more. Imagine I had recommended someone get a Mac, sign up for Mobileme, iweb a site etc.
I think it best to just keep my mouth shut. As he says, it works for me but...

just downloading Rapidweaver and looking at hosting services now. Not something I had expected to spend time on but hey.

I'd never recommend anyone buy a Mac solely on the peripheral, transient trimmings though. That way madness lies.

Actually, madness lies at the start of recommending anything at all :-

1) They ask you to recommend something.

2) You recommend something.

3a) They ignore you and buy something else. If it turns out to be not as good as what you recommended, they will blame you for not being convincing enough. If it turns out to be as good as the thing you recommended, they never let you forget it. Nevertheless, the next time they want to buy a new thing, return to step 1.

3b) They follow your advice. If they don't like it, they will blame you. If they do like it, you get to be free technical support technician for it. Forever. And next time they want to buy a new thing, return to step 1.

The only way to win the war is not to fight the battle.
