Basically, don't bother. The AM2 Athlon X2s were OK but they're now significantly outperformed by Intel's Core 2 lineup. Their first attempt at Phenom was complete rubbish and is to be avoided at all costs. Phenom II actually isn't bad. It just came far too late and still isn't really any better than Core 2. Since then, Intel have also released i7 and pounded AMD further in to the ground in terms of processor performance and overclocking ability.
