Which is more than acceptable alternative. I use a launch manager on my macs and really do not feel the need for the start menu or start key. Though as a switcher I was prepared for change when I switched to OSX.

I find the Windows key works perfectly adequately for me tbh, Metro hardly ever features in my working as I tend to just hit the Windows key and type the name of the program I'm after if it's not something I've got pinned to the task bar already.

On the MS brand hybrid tablet I own, to which I have connected an MS brand keyboard, the alt and windows keys have their function reversed (i.e. the one does what the other should). That's not at all irritating.
