You can install Avant separately and delete the bottom bar. You should be able to double click on the .sh install script once you've extracted the tarball into your home folder. In ubuntu you get a box up that says "run" or "run in a terminal" - pick the terminal option and keep pressing Y when it asks you.

Bear in mind that you might need to make the script executable first using the chmod +x command.

At which point you might as well just run
Code:
bash <install_file>
and then you'll not need to make it executable

Whichever floats your boat. :)

How strange, I didn't need to do that. I just double-clicked on the .sh

Installed that on my new insto of 9.04.

Was disgusted at it and uninstalled it 5 minutes later. :)

What's wrong with it? I had it on Ubuntu 8.10 and thought it looked quite smart personally. I only got rid of it because I'm a KDE fanboy and using GNOME leaves a bad taste in my mouth. :)

It looks a cheezy as Primula L_U! :D

Anyway, I like Gnome. Whack a new wallpaper on and use Windows fonts for added win. :)

Pretty sure I have & I've added the extra repositories & I've updated everything.

I'll have a look once it's finished it's next work unit.
