I'm with sky and as far as I know, you can't use a different router with their service due to not knowing the username and password. Ah you can, but it's a bit of a palaver.

I already knew this. Alot of my friends asked me to do it for them a while back then they had new routers they wanted to use. Did you know you can get uncapped with some routers too.

My dad likes the look of the one he has now, it fits in the room, and a little shelf he's made it! :P

Ahhh, it's got its own shelf. How cute. You sure this shelf hasn't got fluffy teddy bears on it blocking the air flow? :D

The fact that we have ours vertically wall mounted could be causing the heat problems, due to lack of convection, etc.

If you have any more router problems refer to my brother soddit, he's spent much of the last few weeks trawling through router release notes and downloading countless linux firmware releases. Never mind changing every option in our router and the DNS to try and squeeze a week precious milliseconds out of our connection.

i think the cuteness factor would outweigh any heat issues they might cause

actually i loosened the screws a little so it hangs off the wall, letting moar air underneath it :P

Yes, it has it's own shelf.

No teddy bears unfortunatly, I'd get a little worried if my dad had teddy bears in his computer room.

SO yeah.

After numerous phonecalls, changing the router and what not. Sky's come to a conclusion.

Aparently, when the router is getting a connection the exchange is dropping it very quickly.

So now, Sky has sent out an engineer to the exchange to see what is going on.

I should get a call at 6pm tommorow to see if it has been sorted, if it hasn't they're going to take furthur means.

For one, I want to get re-imbersed for my calls, I've been on the phone the them a max of 3 hours so far, so I want my money back. Either that or some compensation for it.

Maybe the money for the calls coming off of my bill rather than a credit.

So yeah, I'm not happy, and it had better get fixed soon, because I actually want to go home, to my house for a change, not to my parents.

Releax, watch tv, and sleep. Not spending all my time on the stupid phone with Sky.

So let me just put this straight for all of you.

Just because I'm female, does not mean I like ponies and princesses. Got it? kthnxbye.

Arr, what the hell! If I'm gonna get my face punched in and my nuts repeatedly kicked at the x404 meet up, (see the "Hobbies" thread in The Meeting Place) I might as well give you a reason as well...

Nah, that's next week.

You'd have to do ALOT more than that to make you worthy of having my foot in your crotch.
