I think they should make 100k easily - though I suspect a lot will depend on the price; anywhere around the suggested "$ converted to £ +10%-ish + VAT..." and I think it'll be OK, but "+20%-ish +VAT" after the conversion and folks'll be a bit aggrieved and maybe think twice before ordering.

Sweepstake sounds like fun but do Apple release UK-specific sales or pre-order figures? Might be hard to gauge otherwise??

Well it looks like it is with the US +Vat ±10% price so may be worthwhile getting.

It amuses me that someone, let alone a bookie, would bet against Apple. Lets be fair they could make the Sinclair C5 sell and one million units is not that many for a product that will be sold globally.
