Firstly thanks to all who gave advice & suggestions in helping me with my little issue
Now can anyone suggest a good book to help a totally illiterate dickhead namely me.
I totally misread Saspros' first suggestion
So i went boldly and blindly on trying my damndest to to screw up my PC so that it would become totally unbootable, but thankfuly I re read your posts and found that the solution was there all the time under my nose.
I now have my PC back, I have got rid of zonealarm, and all is well with the world
