I decided that the requirements for access outside the home are so infrequent that tethering will fit my needs.

O2 wanted £15 a month to unlock tethering on my iphone. Over a year it'd work out more expensive.

Yes that is ridiculous, but I am planning to go with Tesco. If they ask for a silly amount I will look at a mifi instead.

GPS coordinates from the iPhone get passed to the iPad. (8+) It's the only reason I went for the wi-fi only model. Couldn't justify the cost of the 3G version when my iPhone can do what I wanted it to do. Mark

The only get passed if it's tethered. At £15 a month for O2's tethering plan it was far too expensive.

As I plan to get an iPhone 5 that makes it sensible for me as well.

Anyone else having problems uploading images to Fb using Safari in the iPad? I've had to download the iPhone app just so I can upload images. It's just the 'choose file' button that's greyed out. The new Questions feature doesn't load properly for me either. One site that uses Captcha verification doesn't load properly for me so I can't post comments on articles there. Haven't tried it on any other sites that use that because I don't know any off the top of my head. I think that's all for now. Anyone else have other issues?

I use an app called Friended for Facebook. It seems to be the best of the Facebook app bunch.

Have you tried flipboard? Much better way of doing Facebook (or so it appears at the moment)

Tesco don't do tethering. I've asked and was told they don't do it. Full stop.

Further to the Fb image uploading issue I outlined above … I just discovered the same problem on Flickr. It appears to be a Flash based problem as Flickr tells me to go and download the latest version. So websites seem to use a lot of Flash based upload tools, which is something I never realised before.

Having a Flash blocker in Safari has shown those sites up quite a lot. Isn't there a "simple" Flickr uploader that isn't Flash based?
