There was a thing on Click where someone had developed a very powerful portable strobe. The developer's stated use was for people being pursued by paparazzi photographers, because the strobe would confuse the sensors in the pap's cameras and ruin the photos they were taking, thus deterring them. I can see something similar being used against people wearing Google Glasses pretty soon.

I wonder if there will be problems for epilepsy if this is widespread.

I don't think the pulse frequency was high enough to trigger epilepsy, it was something like 1Hz. It could be ruddy unsociable but then so are the Glasses.

Good to hear. Though I think about it because I was really lucky to not get epilepsy as a result of my road accident. At the level of severity that I suffered a huge majority get epilepsy as well.

As some of you may have read, my Samsung Galaxy Nexus was half inched out of my jacket pocket the other week. Silly me gave a truthful account of the event and consequently the insurance deemed it outside of the cover against damage, loss or theft. So I tried to make do with my old Nokia... I bought a Moto G. Very similar to the Nexus, faster processor, brighter screen and bigger battery.Oh and upgrades past Jelly Bean too. I think the insurance should get cancelled, there is a £50 excess anyway.

Are you saying that Android 4.4.4 is like Windows 8 mobile, (or whatever it's called)?

Can't see it myself. Even if it does, with the best will in the world, so what? They're both decent operating systems. I really don't see what the problem is.

Its a question of style. I don't have a problem with it either, just that previous iterations paid homage the the fruit based product, now there is a taste for tiles.

I'm sure I remember windows mobile 6 having tiles. Or maybe my memory is playing tricks on me... Wouldn't be surprised ;-)

6 didn't have tiles. 6.5, hitch was short lived, was the first version finger-touch friendly design. It used honeycomb shaped buttons on a sort of home screen to put the apps at your disposal.
