The event will be live streamed, apparently according to a news story. Also, both US and UK apple stores are, predictably, off the air.

As my work can't do the live streaming, is there any sites doing text based updates?

live streaming URL ---oooh, according to page text, only available on the Mac or iOS... Macworld.com and MacNN.com usually also do live text updates. Fairly sure MacNN are doing in this case.

They're playing the Charlie Brown theme tune on the video feed. Just a bit surreal...

That Movie Trailer thing is both stupid and cool at the same time. I'm confused.

Quite. It's a nice bit of fun but I'm not sure when you'd actually use it. if you were making a video for friends, would they want a trailer? maybe as a joke, but not more than once. There's also a lot of iOS inspired stuff going on it seems to me. On the other hand, having the face recognition stuff from iPhoto in iMovie to automatically categorize your video clips... that's pretty impressive. Oh and I may finally get around to learning to play the piano . Looks like no love for iDVD or iWeb though...

Oh, I'm not sure I'm going to like OS Lion. My Mac is not an iPad.

13.3" and 11" Mac Book Airs. Very snazzy design, no moving parts apart from one fan.

They do look very nice.
They seem a bit pricey though. (LOL, I mean, even for Apple products)

Same here. The face time for macs looks good. The MacBook air looked a little under powered with Core 2 duo. Apart from that you could not fault it.

I thought so too. Doesn't seem to be available yet though. Slackers.

Well, if you want more horsepower, they have these things called MacBook Pros.... Interesting.. the NetMacBook Air is exactly the same price as the bottom of the range MacBook (non pro). I suspect if you want to get one of those, you may have to hurry along somewhat. Not long for this world IMO... Jon
