Well a semi-fail memory (2 x 1Gb) arrive yesterday so decided to install it last night. 1 stick will not work with by itself or in conjection with any other combinations of memory / slots Guess it will have to go back  Mailed them and awaiting a reply

well the replacement for the replacement memory has arrived - will fit and hopefully be back to 4Gb - oh and just in time for me to look at repacing the machine!
