networks are massively over-contended.

That's a massive understatement.

Super-massively-mega over-contended?

We just switched from O2 because it really hasn't been working at all for months. I now have a signal in my house again!

This is in rural Northamptonshire. I have two masts in line of site if I were to sit on my roof, and the o2 signal was fine until a few months ago. I have no idea what went wrong, but it wasn't just my house. The same was true all over the place.

I am with three and get 18.78 Mbps down and 2.14 Mbps up on Three's 3G and I live in the bottom of a valley. It gets closer to 20 Mbps if I move up the hill. In a couple of years I am switching and dreading the outcome if you are all suffering contention.
