How many disks do you get with the family pack? Is it just one?

Tiger 10.4 on both Macs at home, and erm, Tiger at work too. All PowerPC at the moment, so no Snow Leopard for me! Had a play with an iMac in the Apple Store the other day, running 10.6 and it seems quite fast and snappy - especially Safari.

People here seem to have a really low opinion of me! Ask anyone who went to last year's MUMU - I'm a sleepy, harmless lump!

I will get Snow Leopard in the Mac Box set as I want to upgrade iLife and iWork as well. Will do so when funds permit. I have a few other big items to get before then. I am slowly making sure all my apps are Snow Leopard friendly as well.

Forgot the main reason, IIRC you can't have classic on Leopard.

When I switched to mac some 4 years ago I made sure that nothing I needed used Classic. It gave me some safety in terms of future proofing.

Yeah, unfortunately I need to create documents from files supplied in Framemaker.

As far as I am aware, Classic has never worked on Intel Macs.

True, but I don't have one of those either! I thought it was a bit annoying. I can understand them ditching old technology, but I would have thought it would have been relatively simple to run classic on top of Rosetta. Maybe they tried it and it caused too many issues so they ditched it. There must have been a good reason for it as I can run old 68000 apps on Classic on Tiger. (At least I think I can, maybe the apps I've tried it with have been Fat binary).

Yes but when I switched the Intels were not out. The PPC macs were able to run classic.
