I went for this instead: Crucial 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 1333MHz/PC3-10600 Ballistix Memory Kit CL6 1.8V Think the ram on the front page needs to be changed.

Sorry, I stuck in the wrong link to the wrong motherboard. The correct board should be the MSI P43 Neo-F IP43 All has been corrected

Should be fine Ross. Looks like the basis for a good system.

I strongly recommend that nobody buys the front fan that's recommended at the start of this guide. The mobo suggested has hardware to control the system fans. The fan is not compatible and will run at full tilt! I've actually gone and disconnected it in my system while I find a solution, solution found followed instructions in http://www.ocforums.com/showthread.php?t=372297. Apart from that my build is mostly the same as above and it's sweet

Strange, never had a problem with the fan and case combo in fact it's the one thing which has never changed from the original BBBB and BBB which I did a few years ago. The fans normally come with a 3 pin connector and will plug into a MB fan controller or use the Molex adapter if you want to hard wire into the PSU cabling.

The fan which comes with the case (w/ 3-pin connecter) works and shows up fine in bios/in windows.
The hiper fan for the front doesn't show in either and runs at max. Looking at the specs on ebuyer it doesn't mention the fan is thermal controlled unlike another on there think it's the tricool or something like that which states it does but costs more (£10'ish).
I did try an old 80mm 3-pin connecter fan and it acted the same as the hiper.
Possibly an issue with it being an msi mobo and the hardware it uses to detect the fan?
Edit - Just reading the mobo manual top of english page 9. "If the mainboard has a system hardware monitor chipset on board, you must use a specially designed fan with speed sensor to advantage of the fan control."

I've Benchmarked my new system having overclocked the CPU to 3.4Ghz (no overvolting). If I get a chance I'll do it again when I've pushed up the speed a bit more and OC the graphics card too. Pretty pleased though with the performance so far, windows 7 64bit runs really well and the system is fairly quiet so not bad for about 200 notes! http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dm06=11676116

Always good to hear news on BBBB builds Your link has no results in it though, can you remember what it was? what is your final build component list out of interest? Edit - Sorry just looked back in the post and seen your list of components, be interested in your results though, any pics?

It's listing my results as the compared system - in red (stupid futuremark have changed stuff around since I last used it!). Total score in 3dMark06 of 10783 which is a good boost from the Athlon X2 3800+ system I used to have. I don't know if pictures are such a good idea - I'll have to make sure my limited case tidying effort is still in place! When I get a chance to overclock some more I'll post the results (and maybe a photo!)
