A mate needs to archive a lot of music. Has anyone got any favourite recommendations for external Firewire 800 drives? He's going to need 2 Terabytes. |

Western Digital I have switched completely from Lacies to Western Digital. No problems with them at all. |

I've heard bad things about the WD software required to use the e-ink display on their MyBook drives though. Any thoughts? |

Get a NewerTech Voyager Q and any internal 2TB HDD. Seriously, it's the best bit of backing up kit I've ever used. It has FW400, FW800, USB and eSATA connections. Mark |

Ooh that looks interesting. I'll see how he feels about it. I don't know whether this drive is likely to be a permanent feature on his desk, or if it'll be tucked away somewhere else. |

It's really no wider than two internal hard drives stood on their end and facing sideways. Mark |
