Sorry - not got a Vista machine in front of me so can't figure it out myself, but I've got a friend wanting to setup a network as follows:

Multiple nics work fine is Vista, I've got 2 or 3 connections on each of my box. I'd probably set a manual addres on each ethernet connection on a different subnet to the wireless and share using those addresses |

Are you able to share by interface though? I would imagine the option would either be to share, or not to share. If that's the case, then with two routes to the host you'll have to make sure it uses ethernet. |

If you share it's just a share but if you connect via IP to that share it'll use that interface (as the subnets are different). Alternatively use the cable to connect to the router PS The cable also needs to be a crossover cable |

Yeah, good point. I wonder how Vista (and other operating systems) act if you were to browse to the machine through Finder/Explorer. I hope it would choose the faster route, but meh who knows! ![]() |

The simplest solution to that would be an entry in the hosts file. |
