Over the last three months we've had three power-outs - no long term outage, just off/on within a second or two. On two of these occasions, my PC has been on.
So, I'm thinking of getting a small UPS unit to safeguard against damage.
I saw this, which looks fairly straightforward and within budget (£100 max).
I also saw this, and quite like the remote alert feature.
Any opinions/suggestions?
Cheers all

Well we use that APC one for 4 routers and its ok but only for very short periods of outage as it goes flat in around 30mins - I see they say on full load it is out of juice in only 5 mins!
Depending on the power of your system it may be ok for a few mins.

For UPS I try to work out what the maximum overall power consumption is for any devices connected to it and then use that to work out how long the UPS should work for before it runs out of juice assuming worse case scenario of 100% load.
You also need to make sure that the UPS output power capacity is greater than your system at 100% load.
