Had a request to see if it is possible to enable Outlook Anywhere for some of our sales team so they can just open their Outlook to send & receive emails when they are out the office (with access to internet). Been following the instructions here http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/libr ... 80%29.aspx as we are on 2003 SP1 Got to no3. "Run the Enable Outlook Anywhere Wizard on at least one Client Access server" but I cannot find where that might be located. Does anyone use Outlook Anywhere or can offer any help as to where to look re. no3. ? |

I've set it up hundreds of times. There's a great guide here for it. Any reason you're not using Exchange SP2? I would have thought push email alone would be worth the upgrade. |

Thanks for your very helpful reply ![]() You are quite right - our Exchange is running on SP2 already. Have just got to the "restart server" part so fingers crossed! |

Hmm a bit further forward - now configuring the client computer but getting an error "There is a problem with the proxy servers security certificate. The security certificate is not from a trusted authority - error code 8" ![]() |

I'm guessing that you are using a self-signed certificate? You'll need to purchase a genuine certificate from one of the licensed authorities to get around that error - or just tell Outlook to ignore the error... |

Importing the self cert in to the personal folder store gets around that probelm. |

Update. We are using a self Certificate so I copied that over into the trusted root directory on a laptop I am working with. Using outlook.exe /rpc diag to test to see if it works I can now see Outlook contacting our sever using HTTPS protocal and I get a username & password pop-up box however cannot get any further. The pop-up box says "connecting to Comms.XXXX.local" yet when I put a username in eg. Fred and a password it thinks about it and then the pop-up box comes back so stuck in a loop. |

Put in the full username either: domain\user or user@domain.local |

For the record I would like to say a BIG "Thank You" to Saspro for his help and assistance today - he very kindly looked at some screenshots for me and pointed out a few things to check and it is now working perfectly. ![]() Thanks again ![]() |
