Anyone else noticed they changed the 'close/minimise/expand' traffic light blobs to be vertically orientated? Irritates the hell out of me when they do things like that.

I only did because Paul posted it on Twitter/Facebook.

My beef is that they still haven't fixed the shift+ctrl+z to zoom

Yes and I would prefer them the other way around.

And PIng will not be activated by me.

Nor me.

Plus, Podcasts (and presumably other videos as well) can no longer be scaled to 1x, 2x e.t.c of orignal size using the command-1, 2 e.t.c like before. By default it plays back at whatever the window size is in the main iTunes window. You can change the prefs so it plays back in a border-less window (which defaults to original size). Not an improvement IMHO.

They still need to trim it down so that it is not a bloat particularly on Windows systems.

[cut'n'pasted from MacOSX Hints]

"iTunes 10 provides a different layout for the Close, Minimize and
Maximize buttons. Instead of being ordered horizontally, in iTunes 10
they're arranged vertically, like a traffic light. Reverting the buttons
to a horizontal layout can easily be done. With iTunes not running, open
Terminal and enter the following code:

defaults write com.apple.iTunes full-window -1

To restore the vertical layout, simply use this command:

defaults write com.apple.iTunes full-window -0"

About Ping - I did join and the thing has been up for, what, 12 hours and it's already full of spam.

Thanks. Mine is back to normal.

Hmm.. 'ping' is already working on my iphone despite no update being issued. That means it was there all along, I suspect since OS4 went live.

I quite like the vertical close/minimise/maximise buttons.

I think stuff like that should be done system wide though, rather than just in iTunes. It's a bit sloppy to change the UI for just one app.

I seem to remember apple doing it with iTunes before, though. Brushed metal vs grey along the top IIRC.

I have put the visuals back to normal. Other than that I have left it alone.

The Windows version seems a lot more responsive than the old one and the sync with my iPhone seems to be around 5 - 8 times faster than the previous version.

Yes but the old windows version was very bloated by all accounts.

I don't know if anyone else has noticed that if you stream via Airtunes that you now have the option of adjusting the volume for each set of speakers from iTunes.
