I'm washing my hair on that day. Or at least, I won't be bothered about more bloatware emanating from Microsoft. |

I cant decide if it is worth it or not. I still have 2004 and it does all that I want. I am not interested in Outlook, I have Apple Mail and Address book, and they are good. I might get it on eBay cheap in a few months or so but that is probably the limit to my excitement. |

I've still got Office X. I break out Excel for VAT accounting, and that's it. I use Nisus Writer Express as my first and only word processor. |

I only use word and Excel. I tried Numbers but it is somewhat different to Excel and all a bit too much for me to try and learn. |

Hmm, the Ribbon interface is probably good for people who have no idea how to use Office. For anyone who knows what they are doing it can be a massive pain in the backside, especially if they do useful things like hide the print button like they did in Office 2003 on Windows. Still, won't affect me as it won't run on PPC Macs. |

Office 2011 and all its Carbon out-of-date-ness. Think I'll pass. |

I am considering getting it, but am not overly excited as I can do what I want with Office 2004. I think that I will get it eventually but I will not be rushing to buy it on day one. |

TFFT !! I have been patiently waiting for VBA to make its way back to excel since 2008 when some moron decided it was no longer needed. I regularly need to open 120,000 line csv files into spread sheets for import into a database, older versions of excel had a 65536 line limit so that was a pain in the arse but I also use a lot of macros to process those files .. This release will, hopefully, solve both of these issues for the first time! If it does as promised it will save me hours every week. I will be buying a copy on day 1 of release. Didge. |

Yes but not everyone will have an instant benefit, like you. Though I think that many will upgrade because it is the latest version and will come with all the security updates. |

No, I agree not everyone will benefit but I think they have worked hard on the speed of the Apps and introduced several nice new features such as time machine friendly data files etc. TBH Office 2k8 was so bad I think they should be giving 2k11 away for free to those who were unfortunate enough to have to suffer it. I hated the ribbon, when it first came out, having used Excel since 1987 - when it only had Excel Macros and no VBA ![]() That said, I did learn to use the ribbon and it does have advantages, and the overhauled version in Office 2010 is great, I won't go back to Office 2003 or earlier. Like Didge, I am keenly looking forward to Macros coming back. I wrote a nice new time calculation function for a forum member, works wonderfully, as long as you don't has Office 2008... ![]() |

We get both Mac and Windows office bundles on our business licence and we got the installers in this week. I've been playing with it today. The application icons are appalling and the menu bars horribly busy but it does seem an improvement overall on the last one. Feels somehow more 'maccy'. The rebuilt Entourage/Outlook is almost a usable email client now... Any fairly quick questions, post em in and I'll do my best to test things... Jon |
