Post subject:  Optimising router settings/PS3

I have a Draytek Vigor 2710n router. At the moment, I've connected my PS3 via wired ethernet and the remaining computers in the house are connected wirelessly.

I have problems with a friend online when playing COD:MW2. He's using a BT homehub thing. I can't invite him to my party. He can't invite me to his party. If someone else hosts and invites us, we both can join them.

My NAT type is moderate. Apparently, this should be okay but I think it may be causing problems.

Is there any way I can fiddle with settings on my router so:

- I can play with this friend. Maybe an issue with NAT - how do I make it open?
- ensure there's a minimum amount of bandwidth to the PS3 so I don't have issues caused by other computers connected and downloading stuff?
- otherwise optimise the settings for best online performance?

You'll probably need to open the ports for the game and point them to your ps3 to host a game.
You can use qos on that router to prioritise based on packet type (or use the bandwidth allocation feature built in to the router)
