Anyone have any suggestions for a good 120mm x 120m x 38m case fan? I'm looking for something with around 100CFM, and whilst I'm not too fussed about noise, obviously quieter is better.

Ta much. :)

I've got some spare Sharkoon 2000rpm ones knocking about 75cfm for 35dB. If you're ever up in Exeter you can have some, as they're just taking up space.

Cheers Jon, I'll have to pop up soon - the fan in the G4's making infrequent knocking noises. Nothing's interfering with the blades, so I can only imagine the bearing's on it's way out.

Actually, reading a bit more, it needs to replicate the OEM fan more closely. The stocker's 108CFM @ 3400 rpm, 49dB.

So I'm thinking something along the lines of a 3000rpm Scythe Ultra Kaze, or a Scythe Kaze Jyuni 1900RPM. The fan's speed is controlled off the mobo, so it only needs to connect the red n black wires - that shouldn't be an issue for these fans, should it?

I have a spare 120 mm apple fan kicking around. Not sure if it is g4 (might be ppc even).

You are welcome to try it.

cant go far wrong with a Delta fan at those speeds (and noise levels)

unfortunately scan have stopped supplying them, so im not sure where youd get one from :? but if you find one, they are definitely worth a look :)

Just ordered a 3000rpm Scythe Ultra Kaze which should fit the bill nicely. :)
