Cheapest I can find it, and I'm putting a Tesco £6 a month sim in it, effectively putting me on the O2 network:

http://direct.tesco.com/q/R.207-8691.aspx

So I get the best of both touchscreen and physical keyboard, with Wi-Fi and a bunch of widgets (can't imagine I'll use 'em but there you go), £20 credit for however long that lasts me, then £6 a month for 100 minutes talk and unlimited texts :)

I'm not crazy about that keyboard colour or Samsung's rep really, but the phone's going right back if I'm unhappy with it ;)

Any opinions or anything you think I should know would be welcomed :D

Just a couple of observations - my experience with a Samsung phone was less that stellar.
And I kinda think that fudging the interface to cover both a physical keyboard and a touchscreen (odds on it'll feel like the touch screen was added as an after thought because everyone else has one) it'll never feel quite at home with either.
YMMV, of course.

+1 to all that, but I've decided to give it a chance since it's the closest thing to my needs in theory :)

Interested to know how that goes as the dsr is for inspecting goods, not test driving them ;)

TBH I wouldnt bother, Orange sell a phone (San Francisco) that looks like a good budget android phone, where the Samsung OS/bloatware/supported syncing software sucks (gf has a one of the slide ones and I have a Galaxy S).... big time

In fact Kies (the pc middleware) is so bad after 100 or so revisions it still says "Upate" when I use the internal update function

I can walk into Tesco with it and say, 'This is crap, not fit for purpose...' etc ;)

I'll keep the San Francisco in mind, but it's the cheaper tariff that's a major selling point for me - I only ever text really :)

Phone's great for the most part, only real downside is what seems to be the typical crappy Samsung menu system. But hey, once I get everything the way I want it, I'll rarely be in it :D

If anyone's considering this phone and has any questions, let me know :)

I went with the Samsung Monte from Phones4u for the same money. It's touchscreen only but its thin and nice looking. It has 3 small 'homescreens' so I have calendar/clock on one, facebook and shortcuts to Flickr and WiFi on two and finally Twitter on three. The built in browser is pants but you can install Opera. The camera is quite funky with scene modes and a clever panorama mode. The downside for me is that it can be a little slow to respond sometimes but then it was less then £100. For the money I think its cracking!

Yip, that's all pretty similar to mine (as far as I've messed around with it) :)
