Has anyone used Untangle before?

www.untangle.com

I'm trying to spec some hardware for a router and having some trouble in finding the correct parts.

I've been looking at a mini-ITX system but they only come with one network port and one PCI slot which really isn't enough for what I want to use it for.

There are a few that I have found with an ethernet port and a wifi aerial but they come in at over £100 and are using core 1156 (i.e. core i3) which is far too much for what I want.

I'd ideally like an Atom system with a couple of ethernet ports and a wifi card.

I've never looked at small components before so wondered if anyone could help. Even with Micro-ATX maybe?

The main thing I'm looking for is something small and low power.

Not yet

I've been looking into SmoothWall also which looks very good.

The problem I keep coming across is not the software but getting compatible hardware that will fit into a box small enough and not cost a fortune.

Why not get an off the shelf router and put some different firmware on it? I can recommend DD-WRT, it's incredibly reliable - I put it on my parents' Netgear which was ridiculously flakey. It's been up for more than a year now.

What features do you need, in particular??
